Day 1/365

I survived my first and last overnight shift on the final night of 2011.

I’m pleased to say that I learnt a lot from that shift and have certainly progressed as a junior doctor.

In particular, I had to suture a laceration on someone’s foot. It was a complicated laceration as a good amount of the skin was gone. Many times I was tempted to throw in the towel and call in the Calvary (consultants) to help but i persevered and succeeded ultimately. It was quite well sutured if I am allowed to say so!

Anyway I celebrated the dawn of the new year with a friend – a fellow intern and a future futsal teammate. We had a seafood feast of crayfish and oysters at the beach.

I hope our friendship will grow. 🙂
